
Your day-to-day duties will include:
• Setting and operating small rolling and bonding mills to achieve precise tolerances
• Operating slitting (shearing) machines, maintaining steady, accurate results
• Working with tight-tolerance materials requiring patience and attention to fine detail
• Calculating strip lengths and quantities using Excel and mental arithmetic
• Supporting other production activities within the rolled products area and elsewhere in the factory if required
• Working to quality, safety, and production standards at all times
Who are we looking for? You must:
• Enjoy working with fine detail and precision
• Have a strong mechanical understanding
• Be comfortable learning and operating multiple machines
• Be confident using Microsoft Excel and basic calculations
• Be reliable, focused, and looking for a long-term position
• Be flexible with overtime when required
Nice to have (not essential):
• Background in the metal industry
• Strip or coiled metal experience
• Apprentice trained
• Previous rolling mill experience
• Previous slitting (shearing) experience
• Forklift licence
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP
Hours:
Monday–Thursday: 08:00–16:30
Friday: 08:00–15:00
Overtime available at short notice after 16:30 or Saturday mornings
Pay
• £13–£14 per hour, depending on experience
